Here are 3 EASY STEPS to help you extend the life of your sheepskin goods:

STEP ONE: CLEAN

Sheepskin_Blog_2

While sheepskin is breathable and a fantastic anti-bacterial material which can absorb quite a bit of moisture on the inside, it can still cause odours and have a build up of bacteria. With winter conditions adding an extra layer of dampness, a good freshener and cleaner used regularly will help to keep your sheepskin footwear cleaner, fresher with no worries of smelly feet.

For best results brush, clean and spray every 1-2 or as needed depending on weather conditions. The following steps will help prepare you for cleaning, restoring and protecting your sheepskin:

a) Remove spots and stains with nylon brush

b) Moisten surface of sheepskin with clean cold water until slightly damp – do NOT soak as it will damage fabric c)Apply a small amount of the M&B Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner with a clean, wet sponge

d) GENTLY scrub with small strokes to clean the entire area. Scrubbing vigorously can cause damage

e) Once dirt has been lifted, rinse well with clean, cold water. Stuff footwear with paper towel or M&B SHOE SHAPER to hold the shape and allow to dry in well ventilated area away from the direct sunlight

f) Once footwear is dry, lightly brush with M&B Premium cleaning brush in one direction only to soften and restore the appearance

g) To keep everything smelling Fresh – Spray with the M&B Sheepskin Freshener as needed to help eliminate odors

STEP TWO: RENEW

For those of you in the Know, or perhaps you are just learning, sheepskin material can last a long time, when cared for accordingly. Using natural oils will aid in replenishing any loss of moisture lost due to weather conditions and long-term use.

No matter which colours you prefer, you have don’t sweat the small stuff, we have are right there with you on choices. Tan, Medium Brown and Black Renew is available to keep your sheepskin rejuvenating colour and looking like new.

STEP THREE: PROTECT

Sheepskin_Blog_3

In the winter and colder months, we choose our Sheepskin (UGGS) to keep our feet warm. During other seasons, due to its breathable nature, they will not overheat in warmer months, making them wearable all year round. Yay Fashion!

Now that you have a reliable boot to wear all year round, there are many weather conditions to still take into consideration when keeping those favourite slip-ons protected. Water, snow, sleet and dirt will build up on the surface and not look as good as they feel. Worse than the aforementioned culprits, Salt!

Salt is not good in your diet, and even worse for your boots! Although a little salt on your food makes it more appealing, the same is not true for Sheepskin. Your UGGS number one enemy stains, discolours and wears down the fabric. Never fear as we would not steer you wrong, as there are ways to revive your UGGS.  Keeping Water & Stain protectors on your shopping list will help keep your Sheepskin in top notch quality.

This is what we recommend:
